DIGITAL DOWNLOAD...'biomusique' is what acclaimed singer/songwriter Lisbeth Scott and eclectic percussionist Greg Ellis call their new collaboration, a project that brought the two noted Los Angeles musicians together in a creative process that spanned three months of intensive recording and birthed a work of sweeping, almost cinematic beauty. The songs on 'The 10,000 Steps' range from poignant to serene, weaving a rich textural tapestry of emotion and sound a 'sonic sculpture,' as Ellis describes it. Conceived as a sort of 'original score' to a spontaneous and quite pictorial series of song concepts that emerged organically as the players composed together over many weeks, the album as a whole has an epic quality that at once evokes a sense of the emotive scope and drama of great film music. This is hardly surprising, as both artists have long been ubiquitous contributors to the music of major motion pictures; Gregs prolific work has shaped the sound of such films as the Matrix series, 'Fight Club,' 'City of Ghosts,' 'Doomsday' and '300,' among others, while Scotts includes music for 'The Chronicles of Narnia,' 'Shrek,' 'The Passion of the Christ' (for which she received her first gold record), and Spielbergs 'Munich.'
